When it comes to restoring the form and function of damaged teeth, dental crowns are the gold standard in Everett, WA. These tooth-shaped caps are placed over a tooth to restore its shape, size, strength, and to enhance its appearance. Dental crowns, offered by Buffalo Square Dental and Dr. Aman Manji, are custom-made to fit over your entire tooth, from the chewing surface to the gum line. They can be made from a variety of materials, including porcelain, ceramic, metal, or a combination of these. The crowns are durable and are designed to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth, providing a long-term solution to a variety of dental problems.
Why Should I Get Dental Crowns?
Dental crowns could be the perfect solution if you have weakened, damaged, or discolored teeth. They can protect a weak tooth from breaking, hold together parts of a cracked tooth, restore an already broken tooth, or support a tooth with a large filling. Dental crowns can also cover severely discolored teeth, giving you a whiter, brighter smile. In addition, they can be used to attach bridges, cover dental implants, or even to protect a tooth that has undergone a root canal procedure. Dr. Aman Manji at Buffalo Square Dental can help determine if a dental crown is the right treatment for you.

The Benefits Of Dental Crowns
Improved Aesthetics
Dental crowns can dramatically improve the appearance of your smile. They are custom-made to match the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth, providing a seamless, natural-looking solution to discolored, cracked, or damaged teeth.
Long-Lasting Solution
With proper care, dental crowns can last between 5 and 15 years, making them a long-term solution for damaged teeth. They are made of durable materials that can withstand the pressures of biting and chewing, just like your natural teeth.
Improved Oral Health
By covering and protecting damaged teeth, dental crowns can help prevent further decay, infection, and damage. They can also help maintain the structural integrity of your mouth and jaw, preventing the issues that can arise from missing teeth.
The Dental Crowns Treatment Process
Examination and Preparation
The first step in the dental crown process is a comprehensive examination. Dr. Manji will examine your teeth and may take X-rays to assess the roots of the tooth receiving the crown and surrounding bone. If necessary, a root canal may be performed. The tooth (or teeth) receiving the crown is then reshaped along the chewing surface and sides to make room for the crown.
Impressions and Crown Creation
After the tooth has been reshaped, an impression of the tooth (or teeth) will be made. This impression will be sent to a dental lab, where your crown will be custom-made. In the meantime, you'll receive a temporary crown to protect the prepared tooth.
Placement of the Dental Crown
Once your dental crown is ready, you'll return to Buffalo Square Dental for the final step. The temporary crown will be removed, and the new, custom-made crown will be checked for fit and color. Once everything is perfect, it will be cemented into place.
